A well-established hotel in Ras Al Khaimah approached Vallantis towards the end of 2021 as they were facing painstaking delays in their network. Their Wi-Fi network was crashing often as the existing network was choking under bandwidth demand. Though they had a decent bandwidth provided by the ISP, their internal network was poorly designed and configured leading to looping and subsequent crash which required them to restart.
Vallantis’ engineers thoroughly studied the case and suggested corrective measures which included:
• Replacement of their Network Firewall with a Next Generation Firewall.
• All unmanaged switches to be replaced with managed layer 3 and 4 switches.
• Addition of a Wi-Fi gateway to manage users and separate sessions.
• Structured cabling using new cable to be terminated with proper labelling.
• Replacement of faulty Wi-Fi access points.
• An edge router to be added.
• Configuration of Virtual LANs to separate departments and applications.
The hotel management approved our proposal based on which we completely restructured their network. This resulted in smooth functioning of their network and the Wi-Fi access. The hotel has remained our loyal customer since then.
